Allen Hahn has worked as Lighting Designer with The Builders Association on a majority of their projects. His recent opera work includes Mitridate at Santa Fe Opera, La Fanciulla del West for Opera Zuid in the Netherlands, Der Freischutz in Bilbao, Spain, Rinaldo at New York City Opera and Luisa Miller for the Spoleto USA Festival. He has designed for the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and a number of productions for Opera Français de New York. His design for the choreographer Donald Byrd has been seen extensively in the United States and he designed lighting for the first two productions of New York’s Henry Street Chamber Opera, including the double bill of Henry Purcell and Darius Milhaud. In addition to his extensive work with The Builders Association, he has a long standing association with the theatre company Big Red Media, also based in New York.
