Kyle deCamp is a performer and writer whose cross-media solo and ensemble works explore their subject (Caravaggio's "Lute Player" vs spectators, the Jimi Hendrix Cultural Legacy, female persona in films of the '30s-50's, anti-star Jean Seberg's implosive roles on film and in life) in an historic moment from a contemporary POV. Her current project looks at urban renewal in '60s Chicago from a child's POV.

Her work has been produced in by The Kitchen, Dance Theater Workshop, PS122, St. Marks Danspace, Artist Space, Dixon Place, Creative Time in NYC, the Institute for Contemporary Art London, Time Festival Ghent and the Szene Festival Saltzburg. Grants include Jerome, Soros, Joyce-Mertz Gilmore and Greenwall Foundations, Arts International, New York State Council on the Arts Theater and Composer Commissions, Franklin Furnace Fund, residencies at Yaddo, Harvestworks, Movement Research and a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship.

A "Bessie" award winning performer, she has performed/collaborated and toured internationally with many artists in theatre, dance, performance, film, and media including Richard Foreman, The Builders Association, John Kelly, John Jesurun, Chris Kondek, Karole Armitage, Martha Clarke, and Dancenoise among many others. She appears in films by Heinz Emigholz, Todd Haynes, Sheila McLaughlin, Tom Rubnitz, Caspar Stracke, recorded narratives for filmmaker Jem Cohen, video works by Diller+Scofidio, Toni Dove, Pawel Wojtasik and Joan Didion's "Run River" on tape for the Library for the Blind.

Kyle has taught at Sarah Lawrence, NYU Experimental Theater Wing, Antioch, Bennington , Movement Research, The Kitchen Summer Institute, Poli Talu Arts Center Estonia, Susan Hess Modern Dance Masters Exchange Program, Foundation for Art and Creative Technology LIverpool UK, and Damaged Goods Brussels Belgium.
