Rebecca Loukes is Senior Lecturer in Drama. She trained in the body awareness practices of Elsa Gindler with Eva Schmale (Germany) and Charlotte Selver (USA) and Asian martial/meditation arts with Phillip Zarrilli (UK) and these approaches underpin her performance work, writing and teaching. She is co-founder of RedCape Theatre (www.redcapetheatre.com) based at South Street Arts Centre, Reading. Their last piece The Idiot Colony won a Scotsman Fringe First and Total Theatre Award for Best Visual Theatre, 2008. She is Associate Editor of new Routledge journal Theatre, Dance and Performance Training (http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/rtdp). |
